- Abstract
This article presents information about some of the accomplishments of Jamaican writer Sylvia Wynter from 1967-1970. Wynter was born in Cuba, but she moved to Jamaica when she was a child. Her college education was in London, England where she also became involved with a group of Caribbean intellectuals. Wynter became involved in the anti-colonial movement in British Guiana and eventually returned to Jamaica. Wynter contributed many articles to "Jamaica Journal," but this article focuses on five essays that deal with the question of Jamaican history.
