An interview with Alfred Leitenstorfer of the University of Konstanz is presented. When asked about his achievements in engineering, he refers the creation of single-light pulse characterized by separating component in amplitude and phase, and linked together the spectra by formatting the phase offset with a different nonlinear measurement. His objective behind his work was to produce two ultrashort pulses in a diverse central wavelengths in parallel with the amplifier branches.
