- Abstract
Cover: An unusual whitish inclusion in Libyan Desert Glass (LDG). The inclusion largely consists of glassy material that is texturally and compositionally indistinguishable from the surrounding LDG. The inclusion is separated from the LDG host by a ring of numerous cristobalite grains. In several cristobalite‐rich regions, small crystals of mullite often associated with ilmenite were found. Scale bar is 2 mm. Greschake et al. report the first finding of mullite, ilmenite, and partially molten rutile in LDG, and discuss their implications for the formation process of the glass.
