- Abstract
The article reports about the outbreak of Streptococcus iniae in freshwater cage cultured fish species of barramundi (Lates calcarifera). It is the most important bacterial pathogens affecting warm water aqua culture worldwide with serious losses having been reported in Japan, Israel, United States and Asia. The author discusses of the various eradication and curtailing measures to be taken including the use of erythromycin as in-feed antibiotic treatment.
