- Abstract
The article presents an account of volunteer work by student podiatrists from the University of East London at the London Marathon on April 26, 2009. They helped to provide assistance to runners suffering from various marathon-related injuries, such as blisters, hematomas, and stress fractures. The student podiatrists' cooperation with other health specialists is discussed, and it is noted that they found a correlation between foot injuries and muscle cramps. The use of massage techniques recommended by physiotherapists was helpful in this context, and the gratefulness of the runners is noted.
