- Abstract
This letter, published in the Annals of Hematology, presents a case of a patient with small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) infiltrating the gastrointestinal tract and mimicking inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The patient initially presented with symptoms such as fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and weight loss, which were initially thought to be related to IBD. However, further examination revealed widespread GI infiltration by SLL cells. The patient was successfully treated with acalabrutinib, a next-generation Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitor (BTKi), and experienced significant improvement in symptoms and remission of the lymphoma. This case highlights the efficacy of acalabrutinib in treating SLL and the importance of considering GI lymphomas in the differential diagnosis of IBD.
