- Abstract
A film criticism is presented of the 1939 motion picture "The Wizard of Oz" directed by Victor Fleming. Topics discussed include the film's depictions of religious belief and atheism, the book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" written by L. Frank Baum, and the film's use of materialism. The skepticism the film and book show towards organized religion is also examined.
