- Abstract
The article discusses victims rights, U.S. maritime law, and compulsory liability insurance under the European Commission's Directive 2009/20/EC which deals with the claims that are subject to limitation under the 1996 Convention on Limitation of Liability. The potential establishment of an international fund for cases involving maritime liability is mentioned, along with marine insurance laws, employers' liability law in Great Britain, and the International Maritime Organisation.
