- Abstract
This article, titled "EP08.36: Estimated fetal weight: reassessing our accuracy," examines the accuracy of estimated fetal weights (EFW) in obstetric management. The study compares two different measurement techniques for head and abdominal circumference and evaluates the accuracy of EFW calculations based on specific standards. The results show that overall EFW calculations are within an acceptable degree of accuracy and have improved since the last audit. However, sub-analyses did not consistently meet the standards, possibly due to smaller sample sizes. The study emphasizes the importance of continued monitoring and incremental improvements in EFW accuracy to help clinicians rely on fetal weight estimates.
