- Abstract
An essay is presented on the constitutionality of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) as of December 2013, focusing on an economic crisis in America beginning in 2008 and the establishment of the CFPB under the U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. Concerns about the CFPB's broad empowerment and relative immunity from congressional, judicial, and executive oversight are mentioned. U.S. consumer laws are also examined.
