- Abstract
The article presents a study conducted to analyze role of nanoparticles in lubricants. Topics discussed include introduction of third body entities to lubrication by nanoparticles, nanoparticles passing through filters and reducing coefficient of friction, dry experiments using copper oxide (CuO) showing nanoparticles in absence of lubricants, suspension of CuO particles in dodecane, polyalphaolefin and fully formulated SAE 5W20 engine oil.
