- Abstract
The article analyzes the foundational importance of mathematics in science learning and suggests combining the two disciplines is an effective way to teach and assess middle school students. It is noted that the lesson starts with an engagement component to illustrate the idea that thermal energy transfer results in different temperature changes depending on the composition of an object.
