In this article, the author offers his views on comments and queries on the evolution of policy governance and its relationship to other streams of thought. When asked how he started work on his own approach to board governance at the Harris County Behavioral Health Authority in Texas, he said political considerations taught him a lot about how boards should not function. He also commented on whether he developed a comprehensive model of board governance.
