- Abstract
This article presents the results of an investigation that had the objective of recomposing the history of the typology of temporary housing and its sociopolitical conditioning. The work focused on the Temporary Housing Unit for Evacuees in Santa Fe Capital, Argentina, implemented during the genocidal dictatorship (1976-1983). The results show that, when democracy was resumed, the Unit was abandoned and quietly repopulated by 92 families, who, from the experience of the Organized Community, managed to improve their habitat. They were accompanied by university students from the Popular Habitat Interdisciplinary Workshop, in a process of action- research praxis between territorial work and cabinet analysis, as well as an exhaustive record and systematization of the information obtained. It is concluded that the Temporary Housing Unit is an adaptation of the Temporary Housing Nuclei, and a continuity of the Plan for the Eradication of Emergency Villas initiated in a previous dictatorship of the National State.
