- Authors
Reid, Steven John
- Abstract
The article discusses the first three decades in the history of Aberdeen's Marischal College, also called the Toun College. The college's success was reportedly due to both its liberal teachings such as European humanism, which also affected the Earl Marischal. The article also reports on the role of "localism" in the early years of the school, and how the college was supposed to train its students in the ways and rituals of Protestantism.
