- Title
Modeling of the microenvironment of activated sludge floc with experimental and theoretical methods.
- Authors
Baikun Li; Bishop, Paul L.
- Abstract
Presents a study that developed an integrated model of the microenvironment and boundary layers of the activated sludge floc for the floc from aeration at wastewater treatment plants in Cincinnati, Ohio for dynamic simulation of combined biological processes for chemical demand and nitrogen removal. Mass transfer of substrate and oxygen; Biological reaction within the floc particles; Comparison of the simulated substrate and dissolved oxygen profiles with the microelectrode-measured profiles from the activated sludge floc.
