- Abstract
This article discusses a case of cornea verticillata, also known as vortex keratopathy, in a 21-year-old woman with Fabry disease. The patient presented with blurred vision in her right eye and had black bruises on her face and spots on her hands and legs. Ophthalmic examination revealed a whorl-like pattern in the inferior quadrants of both corneas, as well as perivascular exudation and a tortuous vascular system in the retina. Cornea verticillata is the most common visual feature of Fabry disease, and its diagnosis relies on family history and genetic testing. The article provides insights into the clinical signs and symptoms of Fabry disease and emphasizes the importance of early detection through the identification of cornea verticillata.
