- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of computers in stage design and technology in the U.S. The author shares the use of his team of mainframe computing for production management and ticketing and the first time computer-controlled light cue he witnessed at the San Francisco Opera House in 1971. He states that the emergence of computer technologies infused the enthusiasm of professionals for a new level of technological wizardry. Furthermore, culture, politics, and technological innovation are said to have influenced the practice of theatre throughout history.
