The article examines the possibility that the word processor's spell checker could provide the option of an ethics checker for clinical practice. It explores the benefits of using word processing programs and spell checking technology including improved typing performance and reduced medication prescribing error. It also notes that advancements in computer processing speed and digital memory capacity offer the potential of developing tools for detecting fraud and misconduct.
