- Abstract
A stochastic contour path finite‐difference time‐domain (S‐CP‐FDTD) algorithm is presented for electromagnetic wave propagation in metallic enclosures with uncertain slot size. The correlation coefficient between the field and size of slot was set to one. This new algorithm can efficiently obtain the mean and variance of the field. The simulation results indicate that the efficiency of the S‐CP‐FDTD method is much higher than that of the Monte Carlo (MC) method, that is, the S‐FDTD method only takes about 3% of the computation time of the MC method with excellent accuracy. The proposed method can be used to predict the influence of slots in metal structures with random sizes on the field.
