- Abstract
The quadratic DDF function is applied to calculate the marginal abatement costs of China's 30 provinces and cities, and are the spatial-temporal characteristics of the eastern, central and western regions analyzes. The spatial Durbin model is used to analyze the heterogeneity of marginal abatement costs from the perspective of the production element flow. The empirical results show that the marginal abatement cost of the construction industry in the eastern region is higher than the national average and has a downward trend, while the central and western regions have an upward trend. The relationship between carbon intensity and marginal abatement cost in the eastern and central regions is U-shaped, and the western region is an inverted U-shaped relationship. The spatial effect of production factors in the eastern region is weak, while the central region and the western region show strong heterogeneity. Among them, the spatial effects of population, economic and energy factors in the central region are all positive, and the technical factors are negative. However, in the western region, except for the energy element, all other elements show opposite spatial driving effects. Therefore, all regions should break through regional boundaries, break down flow barriers, promote the free flow of various elements, and help the construction industry achieve carbon neutrality with low emission reduction costs.
