- Abstract
Sand funnel is an important sediment treatment engineering means in water conservancy projects of high sediment laden rivers,which has a wide range of engineering application prospects. In the desilting funnel design, better water sediment separation performance can be obtained by opening holes in the non overflow area of the suspended plate. Taking the sediment discharge funnel at the head of an irrigation area as the engineering background,this paper discusses the influence of different opening rates of suspended plates on the engineering effect of sediment discharge funnel. The calculation results show that the 10% opening rate of the suspended plate has the best engineering effect,and it is recommended to be selected in the engineering design.
