- Abstract
During the German occupation, many Polish underground political organisations representing all pre-war ideological options came into being. The article discusses the activity of one of the smaller underground organisations in Poland: Znak, which was then changed into Związek Odrodzenia Narodowego. Initially, it was a political powerbase of the Polish Secret Army, and after the union of the Polish Secret Army with the Home Army, it acted on its own as an organisation with Christian democratic ideology and programme, and in 1944 united with the Labour Party. The article presents Znak's attitude towards the Polish government in exile and the Government Delegation for Poland. It discusses the most important issues of the organisation's political thought, which focused on the relations between Germany and the USSR (and communism) during the war and occupation of the Polish lands, relations with the allied United Kingdom, and lastly the ideas concerning the post-war order in the region of Central Europe, which, according to Znak, should be finally co-determined by the Polish state.
