- Abstract
Children's drawing goes far beyond just art and can be an indicator of their sensory and motor development. With this in mind, we conducted an analysis of children's graphics using as a starting point Lowenfeld's thinking about the development of children's graphics. Following, we compare the analysis of graphism with Piaget's theoretical foundation regarding the stages of child development. The results presented show that the drawings we analyzed express characteristics inherent to the stages of graphics defined by Lowenfeld. We also consider that the drawings also represent the development of children's intelligence. Therefore, drawings represent the changes experienced by children in their development process.
