- Title
A Cup in the Rain.
- Authors
Utiburek, Joseph W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the principles of applying drainage and holes to the residential window-to-wall interface to protect the wall assembly. According to the author, the way to address residential windows is to install an under window gutter or pan-flashing and then create an interior air seal, the will pressure moderate the airspace between the window and the rough opening in the wall. Residential window manufacturers will catch on to the drainage and hole concept in the manufacture of the window units themselves.
