- Abstract
The article discusses the aesthetics and political context of a 1934 Cubist mural painted by Blanche Lazzell at the Monongalia County Courthouse in Morgantown, West Virginia. Lazzell's work with the Public Works of Art Project under the leadership of Edward Bruce is described along with the influence of Bruce and the Project on the Works Progress Administration.
