Methods: The clinical data of one case of the elderly patient with connective tissue disease accompanied by ARDS was analyzed retrospectively and reported, then relevant literature was reviewed. Results: After the elderly patient underwent high doses of methylprednisolone treatment for a short period early in the course of ARDS, the lung function was improved immediately and progression to fibroblast proliferation and collagen deposition was prevented.
