- Authors
Hartsfield, Carl; Branam, Richard D.; Hall, Joshua; Simmons, Joseph
- Abstract
The article focuses on the dual-expander aerospike nozzle (DEAN) design involved in the rocket propulsion technologies research by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) to enrich space launch performance. It says that the engine will be an orbit-transfer engine to move a payload from low Earth orbit (LEO) to geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO). Moreover , the DEAN design would save the Air Force money, advance mission assurance, and aid ensure access to space in the future.
