Allergy to dyes in permanent-press bed linen.
- Authors

- Abstract
This article reports on allergy to dyes in permanent-press bed linen. Disperse dyes have long been known to be contact sensitizers and Disperse Blue 35 is a known phototoxic agent in addition. The patient was a 60-year-old electronics service manager with an acutely swollen face. The backs of both hands were erythematous and mildly itchy. There was no reaction to tests with permanent-press resins. The patient has been advised whenever possible to wear white and to restrict himself as far as possible to natural fibres.
