- Abstract
As evidence of material culture, pottery plays an important role in answering socio-economic and sociocultural questions and keeping light on changes. The first step in this evaluation can be taken by knowing the diachronic changes in their formspektrum. In this article, main types of local-regional cooking pots and caserroles of four archaeological contexts and their finding complexes from Limyra will be given in the perspective of diacronic development which are based on the ceramic studies between 2001-2010. The comparations are limited conciously to the samples from Lycia in order to understand regional- local contexts and their nature. The article also gives the results of archaeometrical analysis of local-regional ceramics from Limyra for the first time and opens the existence of an Eastern Lycian ceramic production to discussion. It is highlighted in this study that the morphological changes experiences throughouth the time can be a reflection of a social, cultural and economic change. Moreover, different ceramic production types in the same region demonstrates the necessity of the coparative research on the circulation of the goods in the region.
