- Abstract
The authors reflect on the study conducted by Bert Vander Cruyssen and colleagues on hip involvement among patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). They state that the three risk factors for hip replacement surgery in AS include early onset, axial, and entheseal disease manifestations. They say that the significance of hip involvement in AS patients was considered as a common and disabling condition. They mention that patients with juvenile onset showed higher frequencies of hip involvement.
