- Abstract
The article offers information on the emergence of commercial radio broadcasting in post-communist Czechoslovakia and the specifics of its music dramaturgy, as well as the characteristics of its listeners. The study focuses on the early operations of Radio Faktor in the 1990s; examining the changes in the institutional background of popular music in Czechoslovakia, using region-based observations, periodical press analysis, unpublished media surveys; and oral historical research.
