- Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic changed the employees' perception about the organization and above all the organization's perception about the employee. Traditionally, the employee has been seen as closely related to the physical workplaces, while today employees are increasingly getting used to the idea that they can work independently from their traditional office. The purpose of this paper is to analyse whether important managerial factors such as the sector in which an organization operates or its size play a role or not in employees' preference for remote work. After collecting 459 questionnaires in different public and private organizations in Albania and carrying out empirical analyses, it turns out that in the Albanian context, neither the sector nor the size of the organization has a statistically significant impact on employee's preference for remote work. In conclusion, this paper proposes a hybrid combination of office and remote work to have more motivated employees at work, making them more goal oriented, rather than simply being physically present in the office.
