- Abstract
L'obesità è un problema sia dal punto di vista sanitario, per le malattie croniche ad essa correlate, sia per il mondo del lavoro perché causa aumento dell'assenteismo, ridotta produttività e perché implica specifiche limitazioni o prescrizioni dell'idoneità lavorativa. I lavoratori outdoor sono giornalmente esposti ad un gran numero di stressors di natura psico-sociale, al pari dei soggetti indoor. Obiettivo dello studio è valutare la relazione esistente tra abitudini alimentari, presenza di obesità e grado di percezione soggettiva nei confronti di alcuni indicatori, considerati come possibili fattori predittivi di stress nell'ambiente di lavoro in due gruppi di lavoratori: outdoor vs indoor. Sono stati valutati 80 volontari della Polizia Municipale (PM) di una grande città italiana: 40 outdoor e 40 indoor, paragonabili per età anagrafica ed anzianità lavorativa. A ciascun soggetto è stata praticata un'accurata visita medica, è stato somministrato un questionario per la valutazione dello stress percepito ed uno per le abitudini alimentari ed è stata valutata la condizione di obesità mediante antropometria e Bioimpedenza. Lo studio, che non evidenzia differenze significative nei due campioni relativamente alle abitudini alimentari, all'obesità ed allo stress lavoro-correlato, verosimilmente per l'esiguità dei campioni studiati, indica, nel campione totale ed in quello indoor, la presenza di una correlazione tra la percentuale di massa grassa e la percezione di alcune dimensioni dell'ambiente di lavoro ritenute come potenziali stressor.
