Several letters to the editor are presented in response to nursing issues in Great Britain, including the contrasting reception of nurses to the speeches of Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt and Steven Lewis, the UN special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa; Rena Fletcher's account of being told to perform a manual blood pressure reading of a dying cancer patient; and the issue of treating patients with respect.
