- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the role of GATA-3 in transducing the survival signals in primary neonatal rat osteoblasts and its possible molecular mechanisms with the use of nitric oxide (NO). Rat osteoblasts were prepared from 3-day old Wistar rat calvaria and osteoblasts were treated with 0.3 millimeter (mm) sodium nitroprusside (SNP). It concludes that GATA-3 has a critical role in mediating the survival signals in osteoblasts through upregulating bcl-xL gene expression.
