TAKING MIRANDA'S PULSE.
- Authors
Pizzi, William T.; Hoffman, Morris B.
- Abstract
The article presents a discussion on various U.S. supreme court cases in an attempt to decipher what if anything, court's remarkable level of activity teaches people about the direction of the Court's self-incrimination jurisprudence. The cases discussed in the article are: Chavez v. Martinez, Missouri v. Seibert and United States v. Patane-along with the blockbuster decision four years ago in Dickerson v. United States. While these cases, like those before them, may not entirely clarify where the Court is going, they do make it clear where the Court is not yet willing to go.
