The article discusses the author's experience with providing a two hour inservice to 13 speech therapists in Pleasanton, California. The author discovered that speech therapists treat young children with tongue thrust, airway problems, narrowed arches and retained infantile swallowing patterns. During the inservice, the author discusses how to communicate with an orthodontist and why to advocate for expansion orthodontics.
