The article presents a study on the Mennonite colonies of Siberia from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century. Topics discussed include main areas of Mennonite settlement, a background on the establishment of one of the largest private Mennonite land holdings in Siberia that was owned by Ivan Phillip Wiebe and factors behind the relative prosperity of Mennonite settlers' farms.
