- Abstract
The article discusses the history, from the late 19th century through early 21st century, of the Australian woman Mary Montgomerie Bennett's (her maiden last name was Christison) collection of the Australian Aboriginal people the Yirandalis's artifiacts, known as the Christison collection. An overview of the relationship between the Yirandali people and the museums where the Christison collection has been exhibited, including in regard to the exhibitions' depictions of Yirandali culture, is provided. The relationship between whites and Aboriginal Australians is discussed.
