- Abstract
The article provides information on a study which examined the harvesting decisions considering a forest with spruce budworm (SBW) outbreak using a linear multistage stochastic programming model. Topics discussed include impact of insect outbreaks on the forest, approaches to reduce the negative impacts of insect outbreaks, and mitigation strategies for how to best salvage an SBW-infested area using real data in a case study.
