- Abstract
The article focuses on Title VII of the U.S. Civil Rights Act and religion clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, and sex. It provides information that section 702 of the Act protects religious organizations from unlawful government intrusions, for which federal courts have applied different tests to determine whether those organizations are religious. It also discusses the case Spencer v. World Vision, Inc.
