- Abstract
The desert territory and the culture of the inhabitants of the border zone that occupies Mexicali and its agricultural valley have been transformed and in this way they have generated several cultural characteristics that have contributed to the construction of a regional identity with anchorages in the arid geography. Indeed, the central objective of this article is to think the relation established between desert and culture, from a theoretical-conceptual perspective and to contribute, in this way, to the construction of a general frame that can be useful for other empiricist researches about the cultural identity in Mexicali and its agricultural valley.
