The article focuses on the importance of occupation in the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on morbidity and mortality. Topics include the intermingling of socio-economic health inequalities with occupational risk factors, identification of high-risk occupations for infection; and the need to understand the contribution of workplace conditions and occupational risks to inform prevention strategies and future pandemic preparedness.
