- Abstract
The article examines Israeli and North American Orthodox approaches to biblical criticism. Topics discussed include increasing degree of acceptance of critical approaches to the Hebrew Bible, openness of Orthodox-affiliated religious figures to academic approaches to the Bible, and core characteristics of 21st-century Orthodox Judaism. Also mentioned are Israel's Yeshivat Har Etzion, the term Religious-Zionist, and the emergence of the Kav camp.
