- Abstract
An editorial is presented on exploring the role of post-translational modifications (PTMs) in the pathogenesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Topics include focusing on dysregulation of eukaryotic initiation factor 5A (eIF5A) and polyamine synthesis; and elevated levels of hypusine-modified eIF5A and polyamines contribute to hyperproliferative behavior of smooth muscle cells in small pulmonary arteries, offering potential therapeutic targets for PAH intervention.
