- Abstract
The article offers information on the history of exposure calculators, meters and other devices. It cites that the first man to create a photograph is D. W. Seager, who also published the first exposure table of the appendix in the U.S. It concludes the advised given to photographers to learn to time by creating test exposures of changing length covering half the plate at a time. Moreover, it states that scientists Ferdinand Hurter and Vero C. Driffield has trained the completely unacceptable empirical approach.
