- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the effect of genetic deletion of microsomal prostaglandin E synthase (mPGES-1) on the expression of prostanoid biosynthetic enzymes including cyclooxygenase 1 and 2. The researchers evaluated the effect of genetic deletion of mPGES-1 on the production pattern of major prostanoids. Moreover, the study examined the effect of genetic deletion of mPGES-1 and subsequent effect of prostanoid hormones on the regulation of other inflammatory enzyme outside the arachidonic acid metabolic pathway.
