The article focuses on the violation of ethical obligations by public defenders at the urging of U.S. states. Topics include the impact on budget crisis on public defenders offices, the increase in clients that cannot afford legal representation, and the decrease in budgets for indigent defense. Information is provided on the layoff of legal aid workers due to lack of funding.
