- Title
RECORDS OF EARLY ENGLISH DRAMA : Reflections of a Hardened User.
- Authors
King, Pamela M.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the theme of Records of Early English Drama (REED) in the works of author Thomas Sharp. It states that the works of Sharp regarding the pageants or dramatic mysteries anciently performed in Coventry, England anticipated the activities of REED. It says that the works of Sharp meet an equivalent range of criticism which leveled at the REED. It mentions that the REED keeps the advantage of the literariness of the play script with a significant policy of omission, which has not been observed by Sharp. It adds that the REED has reinforced the hierarchy of reading play scripts.
